Jeanne Shaheen For Senate Releases New Television Ad: "If You're In A Hole, Stop Digging"
Tuesday September 02, 2008
(Manchester, NH) – John Sununu and George Bush have dug our economy into a hole and if we want a new economic direction, we need a new Senator, emphasizes a television ad released today by Jeanne Shaheen for Senate.

"For too long, George Bush and John Sununu have taken our economy in the wrong direction," said Kate Bedingfield, Shaheen for Senate communications director. "As she has traveled across the state, Jeanne Shaheen has heard from voters firsthand how the failed Bush/Sununu agenda of putting special interests ahead of middle class families is hurting New Hampshire. In the Senate, Jeanne Shaheen will be a tireless voice for New Hampshire's families by ending the $17 billion in subsidies for big oil companies, stopping the giveaways to big drug companies,  cracking down on the reckless Wall Street speculators who have caused the price of oil to skyrocket, restoring fiscal accountability in Washington, ending the no-bid contracts in Iraq and expanding tax breaks for the middle class."

Full transcript of "Dig":

"There's an old saying: when you're in a hole stop digging.  George Bush put our economy in the hole.  So why is John Sununu still digging in the same failed direction?  We've got to stop spending billions on giveaways to big oil and drug companies.  No more no-bid contracts to Iraq or runaway deficits. We need commonsense ideas like clean, alternative energy, tax breaks for the middle class.  I'm Jeanne Shaheen, I approved this message because a new direction takes a new senator."
