Jeanne Shaheen And Gov. John Lynch Meet With Voters At Cedar Point Communications In Derry

Discuss Need for a New Direction on the Economy That Helps New Hampshire's Small Businesses and Families

(Manchester, NH) —Today, Governor John Lynch joined former Governor and current candidate for US Senate Jeanne Shaheen at Cedar Point Communications in Derry to discuss the need for a new direction in the economy so it works for New Hampshire's small businesses and families again.

"It's an honor to have Governor Lynch here with me today," Shaheen said. "Small businesses are the backbone of our economy in New Hampshire. Ninety-four percent of businesses in this state employ fewer than 100 people. Our small businesses create jobs, and drive new ideas and innovation.  It's critical that we support small businesses and the middle class families who depend on them here in New Hampshire. We need to put the focus back on Main Street, where it should be.

"In just a matter of days, we are going to turn the page on policies that favor the special interests and stand up for middle class families again," Shaheen continued. "This is the most important election of my lifetime – and the stakes could not be higher. It's why I'm so glad to stand today with Governor Lynch, who is fighting every day for New Hampshire families.  And it's why I'm running for United States Senate."

"New Hampshire's families are looking for a new direction in Washington," Lynch said. "I'm proud to support Jeanne Shaheen in this Senate race because she will be a tireless advocate for our small businesses and families, getting our economy back on track, making health care more affordable for all Americans, increasing access to higher education and putting New Hampshire's interests first.

"As Governor, Jeanne Shaheen showed the leadership we needed and created 66,000 new jobs, made public kindergarten a reality and expanded affordable health care for thousands of our children.  Jeanne Shaheen will provide the new direction we need in Washington."
