Manchester, N.H. – Republican U.S. Senate candidate “Colorado Corky” Messner is having a very bad week.

His tough-on-China rhetoric was debunked when the Associated Press discovered his law firm represented the Chinese government to sue a U.S. business. He claimed that pre-existing conditions don’t exist and dismissed 572,000 Granite Staters in this week’s North Country debate. His phony New England Patriots fandom was exposed, and he lost out on a key law enforcement endorsement to Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

Messner’s law firm, Messner Reeves, “represented China Export and Credit Insurance Corp,” which is run by the Chinese Government, in a shakedown of an American manufacturer, further proving that Messner’s tough-on-China campaign rhetoric is nothing more than hypocrisy. In 2017, the year after Messner Reeves represented an arm of the Chinese government designed to advance Chinese trade interests, New Hampshire had 24,000 fewer jobs because of the trade deficit with China.

Corky Denied the Existence of Pre-Existing Conditions, Ignored Concerns of NH: American Independent

At this week’s North Country debate, Messner denied the existence of pre-existing conditions, saying they’re not real.

“I do want to make something very, very clear,” Messner said, “there may be 500,000 people that have a health condition for which they’re receiving medical attention, but that doesn’t mean it’s a pre-existing condition…don’t let the fear get to you.”

Colorado Corky is a Fake Patriots Fan: Boston Globe

Before Messner moved to New Hampshire to try to buy a U.S. Senate seat, he was a die-hard Broncos fan, reports the Boston Globe. Now that he’s running for Senate in New Hampshire, he’s pretending to be a New England Patriots fan, but the photographs from his now-private social media tell a different story and his deception is the focus of a new Shaheen campaign digital ad campaign.

Corky Loses Out on NH Troopers Endorsement to Jeanne Shaheen: InDepth

Although Messner had been vying for the endorsement of the New Hampshire Troopers Association (NHTA), he was rejected in favor of Senator Jeanne Shaheen. In an NHTA statement, the association said Shaheen “has fought for the security of Granite Staters and worked with us to address some of our state’s most urgent crises,” citing her work on opioid treatment and her swift action to combat the coronavirus.

Messner, on the other hand, has been touting an endorser who was exposed this week for racist, misogynistic comments and crude jokes about on-duty police officers receiving “sexual gratuities.”

Oof.
