From a family with a strong tradition of military service, Jeanne is a tireless advocate for keeping our commitment to veterans.

Jeanne cut through 30 years or red tape to get New Hampshire veterans a new center in Keene with others coming in Berlin and Colebrook. She cut through the bureaucracy that was delaying the opening of a new veterans center in Manchester, and she successfully advocated for grant funding for critical New Hampshire programs that help homeless veterans find housing. She fought for a provision included in the VA reform bill that will allow New Hampshire veterans to get health care close to home outside the VA system for the first time. She was a vocal critic of the Obama administration’s inability to end the VA backlog and was one of the first Senators to call for new leadership and accountability at the VA. She cosponsored the VOW to Hire Heroes Act, which creates new education and training opportunities for veterans and includes a provision she introduced to provide tax credits to business hiring unemployed veterans
