NEW TV AD: Jeanne Shaheen “Literally Saved My Business”
October 13, 2020
In a new television ad, Phil Huber, who co-owns the Chesterfield Inn with his wife, Judy, in West Chesterfield, NH, shares how Jeanne Shaheen made a difference for their small business when the pandemic hit, creating a small business package that helped keep his business afloat and his employees paid. As one of the four bipartisan Senate negotiators, Jeanne Shaheen helped create the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which helped save more than 24,000 New Hampshire small businesses, including the Chesterfield Inn. In the ad, Huber calls out Republican U.S. Senate candidate Corky Messner for his misleading and disingenuous attacks on Shaheen, who helped save his small business and more than 206,000 Granite State jobs. The ad is airing on WMUR and cable.
“When COVID hit, we thought we were going to lose our inn,” said Phil Huber in the ad. “We called around looking for help. Jeanne Shaheen’s office called us back. We got a PPP loan that helped us pay our employees. She literally saved my business.”
When the pandemic hit in March, Jeanne Shaheen was one of four Senators on a bipartisan team and helped write the bipartisan small business response package, including the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). PPP has kept 24,000 small businesses in New Hampshire afloat, helping ensure that more than 206,000 Granite Staters kept their jobs. She has continued to fight for a second round of PPP loans to help New Hampshire businesses who are still struggling.
